It's a spectacular event to see a seagull plunging into the water for food, because it seems suicidal at first, but in fact it's all about survival.
It's worth noticing the different phases of the attack thru the shape of the wings and the position of the bick. I never saw a successful attack. It probably means that the North Pond fishes are smart enough to swing deep under the surface.
